The Albanian Rafting Federation is pleased to announce the opening of applications for training and certification in the specialized field of Rafting for the year 2024.

Training is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Applications will be accepted until one day prior to the commencement of the training session.

Interested individuals are kindly requested to submit their applications via email to: info@fshr. Upon receipt of applications, our team will provide further details regarding the application process and the subsequent training program.

In accordance with Article 102, Section 4 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, Article 68, Section 2 of Law No. 93/2015 "On Tourism" (amended), Article 5, Section 1, and Article 6, Section 6 of Joint Instruction No. 517, dated January 24, 2017, issued by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade, and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of Social Welfare and Renewal, regarding the accreditation of tourist guide qualification programs and approval of minimum program credits for continuing professional education.

The Albanian Rafting Federation is responsible for certifying guides in various specialties including Rafting, Kayaking, Canoeing, Hydrospeed, and Canoeing and Crawling. The training will be conducted by experienced instructors from both the Albanian Rafting Federation and the International Rafting Federation.

Training Program for Specialized Rafting Guides 2024 by the Albanian Rafting Federation

Day One - April 3: Permet, Vjosa, Class

  • Arrival at Bazen Vjosa Albania Rafting & Kayaking in Permet.
  • Orientation session for training participants, including introductions and overview of the program.
  • Administrative tasks and equipment setup.

Day Two - April 4: Permet, Vjosa River

  • Safety briefing and demonstration.
  • Training on raft maneuvering and guiding techniques.
  • Practice in launching the raft into the water and managing the crew.

Day Three - April 5: Permet

  • Instruction on guiding skills.
  • Focus on rafting techniques and safety protocols.
  • Training session on rescue knife deployment.
  • Briefing for upcoming competitions.

Day Four - April 6: Permet, Vjosa River, Class

  • River navigation exercises including serving, slalom, and H2H (Head to Head) competition.
  • River festival activities in Permet.

Day Five - April 7: Permet, Vjosa River, Class

  • Further development of instructional skills.
  • Continued emphasis on rafting techniques and safety procedures.
  • Practice with rescue knife usage.
  • Advanced mechanical instruction techniques.

Day Six - April 8: Permet, Vjosa River

  • Enhancement of instructional abilities.
  • Training on flipdrill techniques.
  • Continued practice with rescue knife handling.
  • Scenario-based training for leadership roles.

Day Seven - April 9: Permet, Vjosa River, Overnight Camping

  • Initiation of Vjosa Multiday expedition, Day One.
  • Tailored training sessions based on candidate proficiency levels.
  • Performance evaluation.
  • Execution of various river sections with diverse exercises.

Day Eight - April 10: Vjosa River, Vjosa Multiday, Day Two

  • Individualized focus on addressing weaknesses and building on strengths.
  • Leadership exercises and assessments.

Day Nine - April 11: Vjosa River, Evening at Berat Hotel

  • Continuation of Vjosa Multiday trip.
  • Transfer to Berat city.

Day Ten - April 12: Berat, Osum Canyon, Afternoon Session

  • Evaluation day, including written exam and explanation of practical assessments.
  • Briefing for upcoming competitions.

Day Eleven - April 13: Berat City, Osum River Local Rafting Truck

  • Fun competition and Open Albanian Rafting Championship.
  • Closing ceremony and celebration.
  • Participation in various boat classes (kayak, canoe, SUP, raft), including sprint events.

  • Valid first aid certification
  • Record of relevant experience
  • Personal rafting equipment
  • If lacking, equipment can be provided by the Albanian Rafting Federation
