Rafting on the Vjosa River – From Berat to Albania’s Last Wild River
Only 90 km from Berat lies the Vjosa River, Albania’s first and only national river park, recognized as the last wild river in Europe and part of UNESCO. On September 27, 2025, Vjosa was officially added to the “Man and the Biosphere” program as part of the world heritage list. Stretching 272 km from the Pindus mountains in Greece across Albania to the Adriatic Sea, the Vjosa offers an unspoiled natural landscape that will take your breath away.
Rafting on the Vjosa is an unforgettable adventure. This 10 km segment is filled with canyons, small waterfalls, lush vegetation, and a rich ecosystem that thrives year-round. Glide through the white waters as our professional guides share fascinating stories about the river’s history and wildlife.
Albania Rafting Group, the first team to bring rafting to Përmet, has spent 25 years promoting and protecting this river. We organize daily departures from Berat for rafting or kayaking on the Vjosa, offering carefully designed packages to make your adventure seamless.
