Mountain of Tomorri occupies a very special place in the heart of most Albanians due to its rich historical reputation. This mountain is believed to have healing powers.
At the highest point of the mountain is the tekke of Baba Tomorri.
Overview
Mount Tomor is a fantastic place that attracts and captivates everyone with its sanctity since antiquities. It is known as the mountain of the gods and it is definitely one of the most interesting places to visit in Albania!
Since the time of antiquity, Mount Tomor has been a Pilgrim destination for the many faiths of our religiously diverse people.
It has beautiful landscapes that offer recreational, tourist, historical and cultural experiences.
Mount Tomor has numerous mountainous springs with some of the purest water on earth. You can experience pristine natural environments and exuberant biodiversity.

What to Expect
We will start from Castle Park or from hotels you are staying down the city of Berat at 5 AM.
While riding for 1 hour and a half to the Mother Tariko Source of water, the villages of Berat will give to you the best view of the village life here in Albania. Our journey starts here, on Mother Tariko source of Water.
A hike of 6 hours on going and 5 hours on coming back will be our long but one of the amazing adventure ever. We will go for 2 hours and a half with a horse as our transport mode, but then we will tie the horse and hike for 3 hours and a half.
The difficult and non-level ground will make the adventure even more challenging. While we are going to the highest point of the mount Tomor you will be able to see a fantastic view, lakes and other cities. Looks like now you are reaching the level where you have everything on your arm. The biodiversity and the strong colors of the trees and flowers will make you feel the magic of this place. We will see and pass through the centuries-old snow, the snow that never melts!
The highest point of 2417 meters will be reached after 6 hours while on our backpacks we have some dry fruits and snacks for keeping the energy. And the magic will happen. The landscape, the fresh and cold air will tell you the history of this place. From there you have all the rights to say that you got it all, the whole Albania!
After we can stay for a bit on there, shot some photos and telling you some legends we will go back. The road back will last for 5 hours.
If we are lucky we will see the wild mountain goats and their natural habitat. When we will reach our horse, we will do the picnic with fresh and local products. We guarantee you that it will be one of the best meals of your life.
When the picnic is over, we will untie the horse and go back to our cars which are parked on the Mother Tarikos source of water. We will drink some water, accommodate on our cars and then head back to Berat, where we started and is for 1 hour and a half. The whole trip last at least 15 hours of riding and hiking.

Attention
Our trips in Albania do not provide high level of difficulty, but every visitor should consider:
- Be healthy and have consulted the doctor during the year.
- In absolute terms, the person should not have diseases and complications following:
- Cardiac disease of any kind
- Hypertension
- Flake out or lose of feeling of any kind
- Problems of the spine and muscular system that reduce the physical possibility of safety.
- Problems with breathing apparatus
- Nerve Problems
- Problems with eyes (severe myopia, retinal detachment, glaucoma)
- Be under the influence of pharmaceutical drugs, drugs, alcohol.
! Kindly keep all your clothes and personal belongings in a backpack, which can be easily transported on minivan.
Things You Should Bring on the Hike
- Backpack;
- Appropriate footwear. Hiking shoes;
- Sun cream, sunglasses and a hat;
- Camera;
- BONUS: Trash Bag. This 5th piece of gear is essential to making sure that the trails you love stay beautiful for generations to come. A zip lock bag is a great option as well for keeping the trash you pick up along the trail separate from the rest of your gear.

Our trips are scheduled and well organized, but we can adapt to your needs and schedules as giving you the best experience is crucial to us. We also can be forced to make some changes to our trips depending on weather condition and availability. In case of special needs let us know and kindly complete the form below.
Not Included
Everything that it is not mention on the scheduled trip is not included, such as coffee, other kind of drinks or other foods. Although you are going to feel like tipping the guides at the end of a beautiful trip, we don’t want you pulling out the wallet every minute.
Meeting point: You can come directly to the Castle Park Hotel, or we can pick you up from a desirable place in the city.
In our 4x4 cars we are going to drive for approximately 45 minutes to Pronovik village.
The first stop is going to be Abaz Ali foot print´s, from there we are going to visit the Bektashi Tekke and the Tomb of Abaz Ali where the mountain reaches the highest peak. If the weather is on our side you are going to have a view up to the shores of Bari, Italy.
All this is going to be a 1.5 off-road drive. Our picnic with local products will take place at a small house-museum, where u can learn something about the Bektashi religion.
