The tour is especially popular among families and nature lovers interested in observing wildlife from the water. Kayaking with pelicans Albania is one of the highlights, as the lagoon is home to rare bird species.

This experience is designed to be gentle and accessible, with guides providing support and information throughout. Many guests choose to combine the activity with a nature walk in Divjaka, making it a relaxing and educational day tour.

Meeting Point & Schedule

If you’re staying in Berat, you can meet us at Castle Park Hotel, or we can arrange pickup from a convenient location within the city. Transfers from every city in Albania are available upon request for an extra fee.

For guests arriving independently, the meeting point is the Divjakë–Karavasta Tourist Office at 10:00 a.m.

From there, we travel by 4x4 vehicles for approximately 30 minutes to reach the western side of the lagoon.

The Experience

Once we arrive, there’s time to prepare the equipment before heading out onto the water. The kayaking experience lasts around 2 to 2.5 hours, combining relaxed paddling and refreshing swims in the lagoon.

As you move through the lagoon, you’ll be surrounded by pine forests, sandy dunes, and open views toward the Adriatic Sea. This area is also ideal for birdwatching. The Dalmatian pelican, one of the region’s most iconic species, is often visible nearby. To protect the birds, we remain outside designated sensitive zones while still enjoying close and respectful views.

After kayaking, a one-hour walk leads to the lagoon’s observation point and watchtower. From the top, you’ll enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view over the lagoon and the surrounding landscapes.
